Butcher Holler is in Johnson County, Kentucky and home of the world’s most famous coal miner’s daughter, Loretta Lynn. Her birthplace and family home is nestled between two fog shrouded mountains up a “holler” in Van Lear, Kentucky.
A tour of Loretta Lynn’s Butcher Holler is just a short drive North of Pikeville, KY. See the cabin that she, and her famous sister Crystal Gayle grew up in. Stand on the porch where they sang songs and honed their skills before becoming some of Country Music’s greatest stars. Inside the cabin you will find authentic Loretta Lynn memorabilia, her mother’s original washboard, porch swing, bed and more.

After your tour of the cabin, you will visit Webb’s General Store, formerly an old coal mining camp store. Purchase moon pies, RC Cola, sandwiches, keepsakes such as autograph photos, t-shirts and other collectables. There is no greater place to experience authentic country music nostalgia like Butcher Holler. Pike County Tourism CVB can help you make your tour of Butcher Holler a special one.
