How serious is Shaboozey about making The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales a cowboy experience? He put Sam Elliott on the album.
Shaboozey announced the LP’s stacked features on social media on Tuesday. Along with Elliott, who has played drawling, sometimes gun-toting cowboys in movies from Tombstone to The Big Lebowski, The Outlaw Cherie Lee includes cameos by two more actors who double as singers: Jamie Foxx and Teyana Taylor.
On the music side, R&B artist Kehlani, the rapper Gunna, soul singer Leon Bridges, and the masked country vocalist Orville Peck are all featured on the album, due July 31st. Shaboozey also announced the track list, but didn’t note which guests feature on which songs.
The inclusion of actors like Elliott and Taylor, who won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture for her role in One Battle After Another, underscores the cinematic nature of Shaboozey’s album.
